When is the last time you took a risk? How did it work out?
The last risk I took was deciding to stay in the United States
In all honesty, it has been difficult finding the inspiration to write and create amid what is clearly a fascist takeover of American society. I am relieved to have written several posts before today so that I can keep my online journal going, but it is quite surreal living in what is effectively an authoritarian America run by a deranged administration. I was asked today, When is the last time you took a risk? How did it work out? If I had to answer, I would say that the greatest risk I took was deciding to stay in the United States.
Opportunities Despite Suppression
The United States has been spiraling in this authoritarian direction for decades, and now that free speech suppression, philosophies of social hierarchy, centralized autocracy, authoritarian beliefs, and a dictatorial leader are all here, our new reality is now one of resistance, perseverance, opposition, and change. Many people might have voted for President Trump (and indirectly for Elon Musk), and I expend sympathy for those who were wrongfully duped into believing anything they have said, but I doubt that the vast majority of American people imagined to have voted for kings that work to take away the rights that we have enjoyed for decades: the right to free speech, due process, clean water and air, anti-discrimination, healthcare, and birthright citizenship, just to name a few.
We’re not moving out of the country because we are of the many that cannot. Perhaps it is a mistake to stay here in the United States, but the reality is that deep roots will entangle you. Connections to your community can prove to be stronger than fear, hence hope is not lost on us. During these hostile government takeovers and federal firings, we’ve gone from being shell-shocked to depressed to just outright angry―and rightful anger has nothing to lose. The resentment toward our Robber Baron Regime is simmering to the surface of our country, and the normies―the majority of us who just want to live our lives in peace―have woken up to the extreme injustices that have now spread to even whom we’ve assumed were the privileged.
Hubby and I have just acquired a new home, and with it came more opportunities for our survival. It is nerve-wracking living in the United States at the moment, but I am inspired more than ever to reclaim more autonomy.
Most of us don’t want authoritarianism
I do not pretend to know and completely comprehend the complicated workings of government, social issues, and other major realities and concepts that operate daily, but it doesn’t take much to see that the reckless dismantling of major government institutions, the detainment of judges, and the kidnapping of legal residents is incredibly dangerous, threatening real lives, national security, public health, and the economy.
If you are not from America, perhaps you’ll be relieved to know that the majority of us do not want the situation that has befallen upon us, and I much prefer to be friends with other countries. So, stay tuned if you are interested seeing in hearing stories on the other side of freedom. If you are in America, we’ve got this. We can control the narrative by not bending to fascists. Do not give them an inch. Give them an inch, and they will steal all the miles and kilometers in the world.

I absolutely loved this blog entry. In a country that is on decline and in a dangerous state of regression, we need all the inspiration possible to continue to live out our lives as best that we can given the current political climate. This helps and thank you.
Thank you. These are scary times, but cowering makes it worse. We got this!
