
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Sift together the flour, salt, and baking powder into a large mixing bowl.
In a separate mixing bowl, cream together the shortening and sugar until fluffy. Add the egg, milk, and sifted dry ingredients and mix until just incorporated.
Add 2/3 of the finely chopped peanuts into the cookie dough and mix them in.
Drop 1 tsp sized dollops of cookie dough onto a greased baking sheet, leaving three inches of space between each dollop. Top the cookies with the remaining whole peanuts.
Bake the cookies for 15 to 20 minutes, or until brown on the edges.
