Potters, glassmakers, and metalworkers understand the importance of the earth. Minerals from the soil can be combined with fire to create the cups and jugs from which we carry and drink water. To work with these mediums, both strength and attention to detail are required. The end results show the determination, care, and skill necessary to use fire, wheels, and hammers to create tools and art. Sometimes I try my own hand at these crafts.
